Assignment Description

  • Follow-up and ensure EPC contractor coordinate & manage all flange management activities – Bolt torquing / tensioning, hand torque wrench, pneumatic wrench, impact wrench, flange spreaders & nut splitter etc. 
  • To ensure that flange management-related equipment is maintained on a regular and daily basis throughout the works cope duration, being an integrated member of EPC contractors’ team to deliver a high standard of work on smooth project completion.
  • Effectively communicate with the client representative, office engineering team and site teams to ensure all site activities are progressed in a timely manner.
  • Ensure all work sites are left in clean and safety condition upon completion of job.
  • Be actively involved in the onsite daily toolbox talk confirms that he understands what the work scope involves and be aware if there any changes to the work or worksite.
  • Ensuring that flange management technicians perform their duties in accordance with the guidelines and all applicable site procedures, standards, and requirements.
  • Maintaining and analyzing flange protocols, and bolting specialist performance, including meeting the requirements.
  • Collaborating with multi-discipline leads to integrating flange management activities across the full spectrum of project and offer assistance for the technical support.
  • Independently evaluate, organize and priorities work which is normally subject to internal checking and approval.
  • Coordinate subcontractor for other activities like, bolt tightening group, scaffolding erection and dismantling, insulation removal and installation, third party N2He testing group, crane arrangement which required before proceeding piping work activities.
  • Follow-up and ensure EPC contractor are populating a Joint integrity “JIM” / Flange Management Register Database (PIMS), Endure EPC contractor are updating information on a daily basic and ensure consistency and readiness to hand over to Operation/Crew before vessel Sailing.
  • Notify the non-conformance identified during site inspection and recommended corrective measures to Foreman/Engineer from respective yard through QA/QC Manager.
  • Document daily surveillance checks in PIMS Quality and Surveillance plan.

    Accountabilities
  • Responsible for ensuring all works are in accordance with Rosebank Joint Integrity /
    Flange Management procedure, correct tools are used during flange management and
    proper documentation in place as required.
  • Perform Identification of correct flange joints and sign off JIM / Flange Management
    Tags in the field, inspection & verification of actual gasket and bolts against material
    prescribe in FMCS / drawings and carrying out bolt de-tensioning and joint breakout
    safely and correctly.
  • Participate and follow-up as necessary in technical audits within area of responsibility.
  • Identify critical activities daily in a proactive manner to facilitate improvements in terms of
    quality, productivity, and safety.
  • Coordinate with various departments and disciplines to resolve the related flange
    management issues to maximize and identify proper sequence of site installation.
  • Contribute and feedback the operational difficulties, access for the systems and
    processes if any found onsite for corrective/improvement action.
  • Contribute to experience transfer. Develop new methods to recommend improvements
    to all flange management activities.
  • Call off assistance from discipline resources within area of responsibility as needed to
    keep quality and progress.
  • Follow-up and ensure the requirements for the storage, preparation, maintenance and
    calibration of torque tools and bolt tensioning equipment for its safe use.
  • Check defects and corrosion by performing external and internal Inspections of plant
    equipment piping especially related to flanges.
  • Ensure the integrity and compliance of facilities and plant equipment with applicable
    piping codes and AIP engineering specifications and requirements during joint making of
    flanges.
  • Report to construction manager any delay in progressing the engineering
    deliverables by Contractor for the project scope.

Qualifications

  • Technical education on Diploma/Advanced/Higher/Graduate Diploma or bachelor's
    degree/ Post Graduate Diploma/ Professional Degree in Engineering, long experience
    and compensate for lack of education.
  • Minimum 10 years’ experience within working area as Joint integrity / Flange
    Management inspector / coordinator.
  • CITB approved Mechanical Joint Integrity Inspector (Flange Management), MJI 10 Hand
    Torque bolted connection, MJI 11 Hand Torquing Clamp Connectors, MJI 18
    Hydraulically Tensioned bolted connection, MJI 19 Hydraulically Torque bolted
    connection and MJI 20 Torquing Clamp Connectors.
  • Working towards ECITB route to Competency TMJI Task Based Assessment
  • Knowledge in ASME II, ASME VIII, ASME IX, ASME V, API 5L, ASME PCC-1 and
    NORSOK L-004
  • Strong leadership & interpersonal skills applied to a multidisciplined project team.
  • Strong ability to solve problems and communicate persuasively.
  • English – fluent written and verbal skills
  • Proficient computer knowledge with Microsoft Applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook) required and PIMS.
  • Recent relevant experience in middle east/ southeast Asian shipyards is an advantage.
  • Recent experience of working on modification projects and / or FPSO redeployment is strongly desired.
  • Must have managed large sized projects in Offshore, leading a team and shall have pre commissioning, commissioning, and performance testing experience.
  • Recent relevant experience of North Sea project execution is an advantage Technical and / or financial education.
  • Ability to prioritize the work in multi-tasking environment. Ability to meet tight deadlines, follow up on commitments, and act as required.
