Lessons Learned

The PIMS Lessons Learned Module focuses on engaging everyone by providing value inspiring tools to enhance their ability to communicate and cooperate, and enabling contributor recognition. This engagement enhances knowledge sharing, cooperation and, in turn, stimulates creation of new knowledge.

An interactive dashboard creates a dynamic place that motivates users to visit. Random contributions are displayed and promoted, with links for users to read the whole contribution and to start or participate in discussions related to its content. Likewise, contributors are also displayed on the front-page. The dashboard also has lists focusing not only on potential value impact, but also showcases proven impacts experienced by your own team applying lessons learned on projects.

Providing recognition is a key to the success of implementing a Lessons Learned system. PIMS Lessons Learned provides plenty of opportunity to rate, discuss and provide feedback on contributions – which in turn motivates engagement of team members.

Team members can browse their way to information, or search in a Google-style fashion. Textual content, as well as contents of attached files, are searched, making it easier for people to realise value out of this knowledge base. In addition, the system has powerful bookmarking (tagging) features, allowing the team members to bookmark contributions, contributors or categories.

Content will be flagged as Unqualified until an authorised team member has approved the content. This review and approval process is typically performed in a Lessons Learned meeting. The system has capabilities setup to effectively facilitate such meetings.
