Typically, a change must go through a number of steps or sections in order to be approved. The number of steps it needs to go through is determined during initiation. The roles/persons responsible for each section can be configured individually.
Changes are normally defined as, but not restricted to, cost and/or project design changes. Utilising the automated Change Management module significantly reduces processing time and increases productivity. A streamlined Change process is vital to any project or company’s success and PIMS Change Management is easy to adapt to already existing working procedures.
The cost information related a given change can be integrated with your Project Control Basis information, in order to feed an updated estimate or contract. You can also use change categorisation to automatically draw-down your contingency and produce contingency draw-down curves.
All sections of a change cycle result in the raising of an action for the next role/person to complete, until the change is either rejected or accepted. These actions are tracked by the system, visible to all relevant users, and highlighted for those most concerned. The system can be set up to notify users of open actions at any time and the module will provide a complete and accurate audit trail when required.
