Assignment Description

Role Context:

The Project Controls Specialist plays a pivotal role within the infrastructure team, ensuring the efficient, cost-effective, and timely execution of infrastructure projects. This position is central to the operational effectiveness and cost-efficiency of our activities in the region, requiring a blend of skills in project cost management, scheduling, and cross-functional collaboration.

Role Purpose:

The primary purpose of this role is to oversee the entire lifecycle of infrastructure-related projects from conception to completion. This includes managing project costs and schedules, coordinating with various functional teams (engineering, construction, finance), and implementing strategies to optimize resources and mitigate risks.

Key Responsibilities:

  • LPG & FEL Cost Control: Oversee accuracy and budgeting, project setup and management, and vendor management. Ensure adherence to SOX and internal cost control procedures.
  • Data Integration and Reporting: Integrate cost data from various sources, determine project accruals, and prepare financial reports and forecasts.
  • Vendor and Contract Management: Manage vendor contracts within corporate policies, negotiate terms, monitor performance, and manage relationships.
  • Risk Management: Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks.
  • Team Leadership and Direction: Direct and manage a team of specialists, analysts, or coordinators, providing guidance on performance evaluation and professional development.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Initiate and lead cross-functional meetings to ensure project alignment and success.

Qualifications Required

  • Proven experience in project controls, cost management, and scheduling in the oil and gas industry, preferably with exposure to the clients operations.
  • Strong analytical, leadership, and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in project management software and cost control systems.
